U have to run metro apps in full screen to get rid of the taskbar. Click on the 3 dots in the upper left corner and choose full screen. May be this is a bug that they are yet to fix? What on earth is the intended functionality of the top task bar? This seems like a complete waste of vertical space. Unless you are running on a tablet device, people rarely want an application to be full-screen edge to edge. You have to go to the Google Chrome icon shortcut. Right click , properties, compatibility. Try to uninstall Chrome by going to Start, then settings. Find Google Chrome and uninstall.
